It has been really surprising that running can be extremely fun thing to do. I thought it was so boring to run before I started but somehow I got so much by doing it that I have decided that running is part of my life, but I've been running for 156 vikur, or since 24 May 2009. I must also mention that running is a good way to control your weight because you burn ca. 100 calories per km.

I got interested in running when I got to know the C25K C25K program but this program is for the couch potato that wants to get of the sofa and GO OUT SITE RUNING, but it’s a 9 weeks running program and at the end you will jog/run 5 km or run for 30 minutes without any walk!. You can download PodCast for your iPhone/iPod or your MP3 player, where you are led through the program with music and verbal commands. The only thing you have to own is a mp3 players, and shoes ...and when you go outside and do the program a voice tells you to walk or run alternately depending on where you are in the program and it has a refreshing music while you run/walk.

But what is so fun about running ?

Many hear the word "run" and become tired just to think about it, but that is a feeling I understand well, as I have never and I mean NEVER have been able to run! Not even when I was in school and had to run 2.5 km in gym time, so-called "dam Circle", then I walked. Was actually not so reversible to hide behind the church like so many, but I didn’t run, not even to pretend!.

I love running because:
  • Running is a free sport and the only thing you have to own is a good pair of running shoes.
  • It is exciting to set goals in the run, length and time.
  • By running outside you have endless possibilities, where you can select an infinite number of running routes.
  • To participate in races is fun, because you are in a group of positive, glad and happy people that love running and you get hooked just by seeing them so happy .
  • It is fun to keep track of how far you has run in miles or km and see the number rise and rise and rise:)
  • Running increases stamina, exercises the lungs and heart, strengthens bones and muscles and the circulation is triggered.
  • You are quick to achieve personal success and the success is measured and that is FUN!.
  • When you run, you will find that you are alive!
  • To stand in the middle of a endorphin cloud is one of the best feeling that you can find.
  • By running one can affect the weight and let it go downhill.
  • Running can be both individual and team sport.
  • Anyone can run regardless of age and you can have it as a family sport.
I want to say that I am not a fast runner. When I go in organized races I am among the last at the goal line, but you know what! It's just OK! People don’t mind were you are in the line and if you finish a race YOU ARE THE WINNER!. People also tend to compete with their personal time and when you do, you are all winners and I too:)
